A close friend of Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Phil got his start on her show before he was spun-off into his own program, where he psycho-analyzes various guests in between sensationalist video testimonials and often sends them to a sponsored rehab center of some sort. In a typical episode, for example, he may interview a little boy who has been fucked by his mother and offer him a hot new Apple product with Steve Jobs.
