The wife of publisher Martin Harris, Lucy was skeptical of the story of Joseph Smith and his gold plates and convinced her husband to hide some pages to force him to re-translate it word-for-word. Her efforts, hailed by the narrator, failed and she was only vindicated over a hundred years later by Stan Marsh.
